Ginpond, the Shop Cat

A Friday afternoon—are you like Ginpond too,
wanting nothing more than to flop down and laze about?

Our handsome shop cat, Ginpond, is one of our resident greeters.

He can't tell a guest from family—everyone gets the same nuzzle-up-and-beg-for-a-snack treatment,
and it's made him a favorite with children and grown-ups alike.

Most cats instinctively steer clear of little ones. Not Ginpond—
he'll happily wander over and ask for a bite.

His easygoing, slightly dopey nature means that whatever sudden move a small child makes,
he takes it all in remarkable stride.

That steady character of his offers a real sense of safety to children meeting a cat up close for the first time 🙂

Ginpond loves being in the middle of everything—
happy to be patted, held, even to shake hands (if you've brought a little treat paste).

Next time you visit,

if you find Ginpond flopped right down between you and your child,
or settling in to claim his patch of the play mat,

it's because he's decided that anyone who spends time in the lounge
