A 15-Year-Old Wooden Cash Register

A new (?) toy has quietly appeared on the cart—
a fifteen-year-old wooden cash register, and a play set box packed full of sweets.
The years haven't taken their lovely looks,
because their first owner treasured them, carefully, for so long.
This register can't answer with a beep at every key like the young one downstairs;
press some keys and they even stick a little.
The wooden coins once kept inside vanished, one by one, into memory across the moves of growing up.
But just its warm, endearing looks—those tender pastel tones children love, the flowers, strawberries, ice cream—
laid over a Wonderie play cloth,
and in an instant you're inside a dreamy, darling game of house 💕

In play, you feel it clearly—the "difference" between a mechanical and an electronic register.
A difference of feel, of touch, of function.
A difference of eras (…ah, stuck again~).
Playing with it is like stepping into a time tunnel—
a slightly old-fashioned romance and warmth,
and, at the same time, a return to pure, lovely imagining 🌸
